Project 1A & 1B - Audio Dubbing & Sound Shaping

Audio Dubbing:
"Choose or record sound clips to create sound effects to bring a video clip to life. The clips will be provided. Students are required to identify the visual components from the video clip that need sound."

Sound Shaping:
"Students will be given a choice of scenarios and they have to pick one and create the soundscape for the chosen scenario."

Process [Audio Dubbing]

What we need to do:
  1. Watch the video on the Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. 
  2. List down each scene on a spreadsheet.
  3. List out each sound effects for each scene.
  4. Record voice with a phone, and search sound effects online.
  5. Place audio files on the timeline, and sync them with video.
  6. Audio track: 4 tracks for dialogue, one character one track. 3 tracks for sound effects, 3 tracks for ambience sound.
Once I was done with creating the template given, I started off by finding soundtracks in freesound.org and recorded my own voice lines since that was required of me.

Once I was done with finding the needed sound effects for the video, I went into editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.

REFLECTION

Even though the module only just started, I liked it because it is related to something I'm used to which is editing videos; although they weren't professional-grade, it was still a hobby of mine. Knowing that there were so many things that could enhance a scene, made it so much more enjoyable for a novice editor like me because I can now use this knowledge to create better sounds and scenes.
