PROJECT 1: AUDIO IMAGING
"Students are given a task to create an audio image using any of the combination below. The audio should create an image for the firstperson point of view to be able to visualize on what is going on based on just the audio tracks. It should be able to tell a story for the chosen scenario. Students are not allowed to use any voice or dialogs."

The choice scenario are:
  1. Wildlife + Background
  2. Everyday Home Life + Background
  3. Cities + Transport + Exterior Atmosphere
  4. Industry and Electronic sounds + Background
  5. Weather + Background
  6. Market + Rural atmosphere + Background

____________
Progress

When choosing the scenarios, I went with scenario 1 as I had a Jurassic Park outbreak theme that would go well with the wildlife and background noise. Using the website called Freesound, my lecturer, Mr Razif, gave, I also found the sounds needed for my audio imaging project.

Here is the link to the written scenario and the sounds used within the audio:

Using the highlight method that my seniors used, I can figure out if my foreground or background needs more audio work like adding or subtracting additional audio to round out the entire experience.

____________
Once I was done with writing the script, I went into Adobe Audition to start the audio imaging project by using the skills learned like equaliser and volume in the exercise project.

Feedback for Progress:
Play around with the dinosaur noises => play with the stereo so that it sounds like it's walking around instead of sounding like the dinosaur is in the vehicle with the people => use the panning tool

After getting feedback from Mr Razif, I went ahead and did what he suggested to make my audio more dynamic and also kept that advice in mind when I continued with the progression.

REFLECTION

For this project, I felt that I was able to improve my storytelling abilities by using audio as a way to visualise what I have written. Although it didn't follow the script as thoroughly as I wanted it to, I think I was able to create something similar enough and didn't destroy the story's integrity and flow. After being in this class, I found that my classmates' work, seniors' work and Mr Razif's acknowledgement made it very motivating to work on this project as I had the freedom to showcase my creative liberties without judgement from my peers and lecturer. Finally, with everything in mind, I felt that this project was a hard task to complete but still a very enjoyable one nonetheless because it was really fun throughout the project.
