Adjustment Layer:

Basic Understanding of Adjustment Layer:
- Brightness/Contrast: Adjusts highlights in your image using the brightness slider and adjusts the shadows using the contrast slider.
- Level: Adjusts the levels of the shadows, midtones and highlights.
- Curves: The most powerful and precise tool for editing the tones in an image.
- Exposure: Adjusts only the highlights of the image, Offset adjusts the midtones and Gamma adjusts only the dark tones.
- Selective Colour: Selectively modify the number of primary colours without modifying the other primary colours in your image.

PRACTICAL

Practical Briefing
Exercises:
- Working with layers.
- Adjustment Layers & Filters
The only thing we had to do for this practical was to use the adjustment layer to adjust the saturation as Mr Fauzi said the original composition was already good enough.
AFTER Adjustments:
Fig 1.1, After adjustment digital collage
Explanation:
A modern yet simplistic collage where I took different elements and added perspective to it. The man in brown is the main subject as he contrasts the most with the background and initial colour scheme of blue, white and black. He’s also looking up, leading us with his actions towards the fish in the sky; he’s also in the foreground, creating a sense of perspective where it focuses on the subject in the foreground rather than the noisy background. It’s giving surreal yet serene.
REFLECTION
This week was very relaxing as we didn't need to do much besides the adjustment layers and digital collage review. Adjustment layers were also really fun to mess around with though I didn't record the progress as I didn't think it would be necessary.
